A. Roy Williams Scholarship

This scholarship will be available to students based on need and merit. The student must be an Accounting major and reside in the Chattanooga area. This scholarship requires a separate application. Please use the following link to contact the department for information about how to apply.


A.L. Vest Engineering Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a Tennessee high school student pursuing a major in the College of Engineering. The candidate must have a minimum GPA of 2.5-3.5, maintain this minimum GPA, and have demonstrated financial need. This scholarship requires a separate application. Academic Service Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to students who have a minimum 3.0 and a record of service to their school and/or community. This scholarship also requires the recipient to work a total of 125 hours per semester at the University. A letter of interest, along with information regarding your service commitments and three recommendations, is required. These items are all addressed in the online scholarship application. Adrian Gomez Scholarship in Art

This scholarship will be awarded to students in the junior and senior classes who must be majors in the Department of Art and in need of scholarship assistance to complete their degree. Alex Radin Arts/Sciences

This scholarship is available to full or part time students pursuing a degree in liberal arts or related area.


Alex Radin Scholarship for The Graduate School

Alpha Society's Ann Tinnon Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student from the most recent class of Alpha inductees. A separate application is required. Please use the following link to contact the department for information about how to apply.


Alstom Power Engineering GearUp Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding and deserving student with demonstrated financial need. Preference should be given to minority students majoring in Engineering and who have completed the GEAR UP program. The student awarded this scholarship should have demonstrated successful academic performance and or financial need (in the broadest sense).


Alumni Andrew D. Holt Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to one (1) full time student with a minimum GPA of 3.50. It is based on academic merit and leadership qualities.




Alumni Centennial Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to students with successful academic performance and/or financial need in the broadest sense.


Amber Heaven M Blockley Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to students majoring in Physical Therapy. The student must have a satisfactory academic record and demonstrated need. This scholarship requires a separate application. Please use the following link to contact the department for information about how to apply.


Amy Mildram Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to rising seniors majoring in Physical Therapy. The student must have a satisfactory academic record and demonstrated need.


Arlie E. Herron Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to students with a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 and 3.0 in their major and demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students who are juniors, seniors, or graduate students majoring in English. The student awarded this scholarship shall have demonstrated financial need in the broadest sense.


Arthur Rivituso Scholarship

This scholarship will be available to advanced piano students who have demonstrated successful academic performance and/or financial need. Interested applicants should contact the Music Department. Asa Van Frazier Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who demonstrates financial need. Preference will be given to a member of any African Methodist Episcopal denomination church. Next preference would go to individuals who are pursuing careers in teaching. A student awarded this scholarship in previous years shall have preference in the selection procedures in subsequent years.


Authors and Artists Club Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to outstanding and deserving undergraduate students majoring in Creative Writing, English, Music, Art, or Theatre. The student awarded this scholarship shall have demonstrated financial need in the broadest sense. This scholarship requires a separate application. Baker-Corliss Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a UTC Student who has demonstrated financial need, resides in the Chattanooga Area, and has a minimum GPA of 3.0.


Barbara and Robert Oldham Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who demonstrates financial need in the broadest sense. First preference is given to students who are single mothers.


Barnes & Noble

3.0 gpa; 30 UTC hours; need; $1000 max for the year, split equally. This scholarship is non-renewable.


Ben P. Shields Sr. Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student who resides in either Catoosa or Walker County, Georgia.


Bethany Clariday Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to the student with the highest Interior Design Department entrance exam score. A separate application is required. Please use the following link to contact the department for information about how to apply.


Betty Sompayrac Award

This scholarship will be awarded to a currently enrolled or admitted student in good standing who is pursuing an accounting degree. The recipient must demonstrate successful academic performance with at least a 2.500 GPA. Financial need can be considered. Preference will be given to non-traditional students. A student holding this award in one year shall have preference in subsequent years. A separate application is required. Bill E Payne Scholarship in Music

This scholarship is open to students who possess a passion for both performing and creating music, with a preference given to those interested in traditional American country and folk music if possible. Billy C. Perry Jr. Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a member of the UTC Cheerleading squad. Preference may be given to an entering freshman who was a Cheerleader or Team Manager in high school. Blue Cross/Blue Shield Math Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student with a declared major in Math and with a satisfactory academic history and demonstrated financial need. This scholarship requires a separate application. Please use the following link to contact the department for information about how to apply.


BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Community Trust Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student who is majoring in business with preference towards those concentrating in insurance.


Brainerd Kiwanis Club Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to full time students of UTC. Preference is given to members of Circle K or Key Club at UTC, Tyner High School, or Hickory Valley High School. Members of the above organizations may also be considered with preference given to Chattanooga area students. Third preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate a history of community service to children. Applicants and continuing recipients must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA. The student who receives this award is invited to attend at least one Brainerd Kiwanis Club meeting and to participate in a club activity during the year. Student could be elligible to receive scholarship for up to four (4) consecutive years at UTC.


Brown Stove Works, Inc., Free Enterprise Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to full time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Recipients of this scholarship must have declared a major in either the College of Engineering or the School of Business. First preference is given to lineal descendants of current employees with two years of service or a former employee with 25 years of service with Brown Stove Works, Inc. A letter from Brown Stove Works, Inc., is required. Next preference is given to a Cleveland State Community College student desiring to transfer to UTC who is already on a scholarship provided by Brown Stove Works, Inc., provided the transfer student has a 3.0 GPA. Third preference goes to any student transferring from Cleveland State Community College with a 3.0 GPA. Final preference goes to any resident first of Bradley and then Meigs, Polk, or McMinn counties of Tennessee.A student awarded this scholarship in previous years shall have preference in the selection procedures in subsequent years and the student maintains a 2.75 GPA.


Bryson Family Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student who is pursuing a doctorate in Physical Therapy. Preference will be given to those entering their first semester and those who are first generation college graduates. This scholarship requires a separate application. Buster Brown Apparel Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and demonstrate financial need. A student who held this award in previous years shall reapply in subsequent years to be considered for the continuation of the award.


Butterfield Grad Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to graduate students enrolled at UTC in a nurse practitioner or nursing informatics concentration. An eligible student will have completed nine full time hours in the graduate program and currently be enrolled in the second nine. This scholarship requires a separate application. C Glasscock Parker Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who demonstrates financial need.


C. Gibbs and Linda W. Smith Business Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in business who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who demonstrates financial need. First preference is given to students from the Nashville, Tennessee area. Second preference will be given to students from the Chattanooga area, preferably those students who are graduates from the McCallie School. A student who held this award in a previous year shall have preference in the selection procedures in subsequent years.


Calvin Smith Jr./GH Smith Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding student with an interest in military service. The student awarded will have demonstrated initiative and leadership capacities through his or her participation and achievements in campus and civic activities, completed their freshman year, but not yet started their sophomore year. They must possess a cumulative GPA of 2.5, and rank in the upper 20 percent of his ROTC class. This scholarship requires a separate application. Capt. Daphne M. Painter Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to Southeast school districts with difficulties finding the financial means for sending participants, or interns, to the Institute of the Southeast Center for Education in the Arts at UTC. Carl Gibson Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and/or demonstrates financial need. A student holding this scholarship in one year may receive preference in subsequent years.

Carol Smith Sanders Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to students in the Master's of Special Education program. The student awarded this scholarship shall have demonstrated successful academic performance and/or financial need. This scholarship requires a separate application. Carolyn Thompson Spirit Award

This scholarship will be awarded to a student who is engage in University & community activities and has demonstrated exceptional volunteer service & leadership skills. The selected student must be a member of the Chancellor's Ambassadors, the Student Foundation, the Student Government Association, or the Student Alumni Council while maintaining at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA. The student must demonstrate financial need.


Catherman Scholarship

The scholarship will be awarded to a full time student who has a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and demonstrates financial need. First preference will be given to students who graduated from a Sevier County, Tennessee high school. Next preference will be given to high school graduates of counties adjacent to Sevier County. Final preference is given to students from any East Tennessee County. Students who held this award in a previous year shall have preference in the selection procedure in subsequent years with all other things being equal.


Chancellor's Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to first-time freshmen. The student must have a minimum of 3.75 GPA and 30 ACT composite (1400 SAT). Since funding is limited, consideration will only be given to students who have a completed UTC Admissions file (application, application fee, high school transcript, and ACT/SAT score) by December 1 for the next academic year.


Charles A. Noone Memorial Fund

This scholarship will be awarded to a male and female incoming freshman who reside in Hamilton County (resident for at least 2 yrs). The student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Student could be elligible to recieve scholarship for four (4) consecutive years by maintaining scholarship requirements.


Chattanooga Area Personnel Scholarship

One half of this scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in Human Resource Management in the School of Business and the other half to a student majoring Industrial Organizational Psychology in the College of Arts & Sciences. Chattanooga Coke and Chemicals Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded based on need and merit. The student to be selected will have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and is an undergraduate below senior status.


Chattanooga Yes

This scholarship is awarded to first time freshmen who demonstrate financial need. The student must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and 19 ACT composite (890 SAT).

Chickamauga Chase Scholarship in honor of Leroy & Rita Fanning

This scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing a degree in one of the Health & Human Performance programs. Recipients must be a junior or senior who demonstrate financial need and/or academic merit as well as dedication to HHP. Recipients must be a volunteer for the current year's race and can only receive this award once in their academic career. Interested applicants must submit a separate application to the Department of Health & Human Performance by the start of the Spring Semester prior to the start of an applicant's junior or senior year. Clarence T. Jones Prize

This scholarship will be awarded to a rising senior in physics or astronomy who has demonstrated excellent academic achievement. This scholarship requires a separate application. Please use the following link to contact the department for information about how to apply.


Clayton Arnold Teacher Training Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student from a southern state who is pursuing one of the majors within the College of Education. The candidate must be in good standing and have a satisfactory academic record. This scholarship requires a separate application. Creed Bates Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student who lives in the Chattanooga area with a minimum GPA of 3.0.


Culpepper Family Scholarship

The scholarship will be awarded to a full time student who has a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and demonstrates financial need in the broadest sense. First consideration for this award will go to students majoring in Business Administration and/or History. Student must maintain a 2.5 GPA or above to retain the scholarship in subsequent years.


Cyril and Imogen Burgner Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to an applicant who shows satisfactory academics and financial need. The recipient should have a 3.0 GPA and be a Tyner Academy graduate.


David A. Knauff Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a graduate of Ooltewah High School who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrates financial need.


David M. Brammer Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student who is an active member of Sigma Chi and has been enrolled at UTC for at least one full year. Please contact your chapter president for more information.


David M. Key Memorial Fund

This scholarship will be awarded to UTC students residing in the Chattanooga area with a minimum GPA of 3.0.


Deforest Spencer Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to students who have a satisfactory academic record and demonstrated financial need. Preference will go to students enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences. Dorothea Woods Obear Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded only to students who have been admitted to the Honors College and have demonstrated financial need. Douglas Chamberlain Griffith Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrates financial need.


Douglas Gumerman/HEIL Trailer International Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student who majors in Business, Marketing, Engineering or Environmental Sciences. Eligible candidates need a minimum GPA of 2.5 and should show evidence of student leadership. Demonstrates financial need may be considered. Preference will be given to children of HEIL Company Employees. A student who held this award in a previous year shall have preference in the selection procedures in subsequent years.


Dr Robert Swansbrough Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a Pre-Medical student of junior status who is majoring in Biology on the basis of academic merit and financial need. This scholarship is available to students majoring in Nursing at UTC. The student's academic performance and financial need will be considered. Dr. Irvine W. Grote Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to first-time freshman majoring in Chemistry. The awards are renewable over a four-year period. The Chemistry major is designed for students with a career interest in Chemistry and who are preparing for professional study in the health sciences. Eligible students must 1) complete a course in high school Chemistry with an A or B; 2) attain a high school grade point average of 3.5 or above; 3) have a composite score of 26 or above on the ACT exam (or SAT equivalent); and 4) declare Chemistry as their major at UTC. Dr. Jeffery L. Brown Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to students with a satisfactory academic history. These students must be Anthropology majors or another allied field. This scholarship requires a separate application. Please use the following link to contact the department for information about how to apply.


Dr. Joe & Pat Johnson Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to one (1) full time student who maintains a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, is an active member of the UTC Student Alumni Council, and has met the first recognition level of SAC participation points (100). A letter of recommendation from a UTC faculty/staff member is also required. There will be a separate application available for this scholarship starting early February of each year and the deadline to apply will be mid-March. Dr. Karel Hujer Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to outstanding students majoring in Astronomy, Physics, and Mathematics. This scholarship requires a separate application. Please use the following link to contact the department for information about how to apply.


Dr. Littleton Mason Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student with an outstanding academic history and demonstrated financial need. Preference for the award will be to students from low income families, with first consideration given to students from the Memphis area, and who are also African American. This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who is majoring in education.


Dr. Wilbur K. Butts Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to incoming freshmen students who have been accepted for admission or are enrolled at UTC. The student awarded this scholarship shall have demonstrated successful academic achievement majoring in Biological Science. This scholarship requires a separate application. Dr. William Masterson Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student with an outstanding academic history and demonstrated financial need. The student must be majoring in Humanities, with preference given to students concentrating in History. This scholarship requires a separate application. Earl W., Sr., & Viva H. Winger Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student who has completed at least one year of successful coursework at UTC, is classified as a sophomore or higher and is degree-seeking in good standing with at least a 3.00 overall GPA. Preference will be given to student-veterans in the following majors (listed in order of preference as well):
  1. Communication,
  2. Business,
  3. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering OT Mad1ematics), 
  4. Allied Health (Nursing, pre-Medical, pre-Dental, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy).
It is Donors' strong desire that the recipient demonstrate a strong work ethic inside and outside the classroom, a preeminent degree of self-reliance, the traditionally accepted standards of high moral character, and exhibit the highest standards of professionalism in the manner in which they present themselves.

For this gift agreement, student-veterans are defined as individuals that have served no less than two (2) years in one or more branches of the United States Military and, upon completion of their duty therein, were discharged with a status of Honorable.



East Ridge Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who demonstrates financial need. Preference will be given to students who graduated from East Ridge High School. A student who held this award in a previous year shall have preference in the selection procedures in subsequent years.


Edgar M. Jolley Basketball Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student athlete who is a member of the men's basketball team. This scholarship requires a separate application. Please use the following link to contact the department for information about how to apply.


Edith W. Cassell Scholarship

This scholarship will be given to a full time UTC student who demonstrates financial need in the broadest sense and has a minimum GPA of 3.0.


Edmonia J. Simmons Endowment Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to students who are Music or Music Education majors. Preference will be given to an outstanding African American student, with first consideration given to students in the Chattanooga area. The student awarded this scholarship shall have demonstrated a successful musical ability and talent in addition to financial need. This scholarship requires a separate application. Edwin B. Duckett, Jr. Scholarship

The scholarship will be awarded to a full time student who has a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and demonstrates financial need. First consideration for this award will go to students majoring in Engineering.


Elizabeth and W. Roy Meyers Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 while majoring in business, engineering, education, nursing or a science-focused liberal arts. Selected students must submit a resume and a one-page essay stating why this scholarship is important to them.


Elizabeth Dalton and Kappa Delta Pi Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to Education majors who plan to become teachers. A student who held this award in a previous year shall have preference in the selection procedures in subsequent years.


Elizabeth Patten Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference will go to local students.


Estes Kefauver Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to incoming freshman students regardless of course of study. Consideration is given to financial need of recipients.


Falk, Traylor and Davis Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrates financial need. Preference will be given to minority students.


Fincannon Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a previously married and now widowed female student who has not yet remarried. Part and full time, graduate and undergraduate students will be considered. Preference will be given to Tennessee residents. A student who held the award in a previous year will also have preference over others in subsequent years.


Fred Armstrong Award

This scholarship will be awarded to outstanding and deserving students majoring in Economics with demonstrated financial need. A separate application is required. Please use the following link to contact the department for information about how to apply.


Fred R. Westcott Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students residing in the Chattanooga area.


Friends of Douglas Griffith Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to students with a satisfactory academic history and demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students majoring in Art. Gene H. Kistler Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student who is a declared Pre-Medical major, and who has greater than or equal to 3.0 GPA.


George R. West Jr. Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to students who are members of the UTC Golf Team and requires a separate application. Please use the following link to contact the department for information about how to apply.


George S. and Norma L. McCarty Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student and has demonstrated financial need. Candidates must have graduated from a public high school in Hamilton County. A student who held this award in a previous year shall have preference in the selection procedures in subsequent years.


Gertrude J. Witt Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrated financial need.


Grace B. Charles Foundation Scholarship (The Charles Foundation)

This scholarship is offered through the generosity of Mario and Grace Charles. An eligible candidate must 1) Be a Full-Time UTC student during the award period (minimum of 12 credit hours each semester); 2) Major in Education (must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program or graduate students admitted to an education program that includes certification); 3) Have a minimum 3.5 GPA and completed at least 30 hours at UTC (AP credit from high school is included). James and Susan Irvine Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who demonstrates financial need. First consideration will be given to a student majoring in Humanities.


James B. Frost and Company Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who demonstrates financial need. Preference will be given to a student majoring in accounting.


James E. Walker, Jr. Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The student must also be an English or French major.


James G. Ware Award

This scholarship will go to an outstanding student in the Math department. Preference will be given to students who plan to teach Mathematics at the high school level. This scholarship will be awarded to a student with a satisfactory academic history and demonstrated financial need. The student must be a displaced homemaker, which would include a person who has been displaced from his/her primary role as homemaker through a marital separation, divorce, death of a spouse or disablement of a spouse requiring them to provide financially for themselves and dependents. Also, the student may be a single parent, defined as a male or female who has never been married and has children. This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrated financial need. The recipient must be an Engineering student.


Jill Wheeler Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to students in the School of Nursing. It is the desire of the donors that the awarding of this scholarship be based on the leadership, scholarship and service of the recipient. The recipient must be a senior nursing student with a satisfactory clinical standing and a GPA of at least a 3.00. The recipient will have the following qualities: 1) emotional maturity, 2) perserverance, 3) tact, 4) insight, and 5) effective communications skills. This requires a separate application. Jimmy Jackson Memorial Alumni Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a junior or senior who has successfully completed 60 credit hours. The student must be enrolled on a full time basis and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference will be given to the dependent child of a UTC graduate. Special consideration will be given to students who have demonstrated commitment to Community or University service. This scholarship is available to students who have been accepted for admission or are currently enrolled at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. John L. Hutcheson, Jr. Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrates financial need. Preference will be given to residents of the City of Rossville, as well as children of employees of companies in Rossville. Preference will also be given to residents of Walker, Catoosa, or Dade County, Georgia, in that order.

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who demonstrates financial need. Preference goes to part time student workers. A scholarship recipient may renew the scholarship from year to year, as long as they maintain the criteria listed above. A recipient cannot continue to receive this award beyond their fourth year of full time college enrollment.

Kim Hudson White Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time undergraduate junior or senior who has a minimum GPA of 3.0. The applicant's financial need may be considered. This scholarship is offered through the generosity of Mario and Grace Charles. Ochi / Komatsu Academic Scholarship

This scholarship is available to dependent children of full-time employees at the Komatsu America Corp's Chattanooga Manufacturing Operations. Applicants must be enrolled full time and must meet the requirements for the Tennessee Education Lottery HOPE Scholarship. Those requirements for entering freshman are either a 21 composite score on the ACT, or a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0. Interested applicants will obtain the required application from the Human Resources Department of Komatsu America Corp. Applications should be received by the Human Resources Department no later than February 1 for the next academic year.

Proverbs 31 Woman Sigma Kappa

This scholarship is available to active members of Sigma Kappa and at least Junior status. The student may be full or part-time. A separate application and essay are required. Information will be sent to Sigma Kappa members early spring each year.


Provost's Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to first-time freshmen entering in the fall. The student must have a minimum of 3.50 GPA and 26 ACT composite (1260 SAT).


Ralph and Alice Call Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. Awards will be restricted to students majoring in Engineering. This award is also restricted to in-state students from Tennessee. A student who held this award in previous years shall reapply in subsequent years to be considered for the continuation of the award.


Ralph F. Quarles Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student or is enrolled in the Teacher Preparation Program. The student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. The student must be a resident of Georgia and pursuing a degree in education. A student who held this award in a previous year shall have preference in the selection procedures in subsequent years.


Ray Robinson, Jr., and Nancy Robinson Oliver Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who demonstrates financial need. A student who held this award in a previous year shall have preference in the selection procedures in subsequent years.


Richard A. Norton Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students residing in Bradley County.


Richard Ginn Scholarship in Nursing

Rotary Club of Chattanooga-Hamilton Place Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time undergraduate student who has a minimum GPA of 2.5 and who demonstrates financial need. Preference will be given to residents of Hamilton County, TN; to a student transferring from Chattanooga State Technical Community College that held this scholarship there; to non-traditional college students or students who have not followed the traditional progression from high school to college. Members and immediate family members of the Rotary Club of Chattanooga-Hamilton Place are not eligible to receive this scholarship.

Recipients must participate in at least one (1) of the annual service projects of the club and the annual golf tournament each May which funds the scholarships. Upon acceptance, recipients must agree to release their contact information to a representative of the Rotary Club of Chattanooga-Hamilton Place in order the to receive communications about the club and its service projects.

This scholarship will be awarded to a first-time freshman student from North Georgia who is the first in their family to go to college and pursuing either a business, technology, or nursing major. This scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student who is either on current active duty with one of the United States Military branches or has previously received an honorable (or general discharge under honorable conditions). A student's enrollment in the G.I. Bill is not required. Eligible students must have at least a 3.00 GPA and demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA. Recipients are encouraged to engage with the Student Veteran's Organization (SVO) at UTC and with other veterans in the University family and Chattanooga community as much as possible but not to the detriment of academic performance.

This one-year scholarship will be awarded to a first-time freshman who is the child/stepchild or grandchild/step-grandchild of a degree-holding graduate from one of the UT campuses (Knoxville, Chattanooga, Martin, UT-Health Science Center). Recipients must have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA and a minimum 21 ACT composite score (980 SAT). The scholarship will be available to both in-state and out-of-state students.

UTC Legacy Scholarship

This one-year scholarship will be awarded to a first-time freshman who is the child/stepchild, grandchild/step-grandchild, niece/nephew, or brother/sister of a degree-holding graduate from the University of Chattanooga or UT-Chattanooga. Candidates must have at least a 2.75 high school GPA, a 21 ACT composite score, and demonstrate engagement in extracurricular activities & community service. The student's financial need may also be considered. This scholarship will be available to both in-state and out-of-state students.


UTC Scholars Fund

This scholarship will be awarded to an incoming freshman who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and promise in high school. Required high school minimum GPA is a 3.25.


UTFI Harold & Amy Stiles Wrestling Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a full time student, 21 years of age or older, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrated financial need. This scholarship is restricted to graduates of Howard School of Academics & Technology. The student awarded this scholarship must demonstrate successful academic performance and/or financial need. William and Susan Pettway Gift

This scholarship will be awarded to a member of the UTC Football Team. Preference will be given to members who hold the position of offensive/defensive tackle.
